LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Coalition led Task Force Vanguard, the United States Agency for International Development, representatives from an international consulting company and local Afghan government officials meet in nearby Puli-alam to begin a four phased plan for progress in Logar province, Nov. 9.
The consulting company, out of Annapolis, Md., has nearly ten years of experience linking agricultural producers and agri-businesses to markets. They have worked with Logar government officials in the past, and have learned some lessons from conducting mentorship programs in remote and insecure areas of Afghanistan.
The four-phased plan’s goal is for the government of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to support sustainable development without being dependent on charitable donors.
LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – After a prayer and speeches by the Charkh district sub-governor and coalition officials, local Afghan community leaders received training regarding the roles and responsibilities of each level of government from the national down to the district level, in Charkh, Nov. 9.
The leaders of Charkh district planned to meet in the next few weeks on their own to create a district development plan.
