PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan – U.S. Army Sgt. Terrance Ray (left) and U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Bryan Hollifield provide security during a shura held in the village of Tsinowkho Kalay to discuss crop failures, safety, economic conditions and irrigation concerns with local villagers, April 14. Both members work for the security force element of the Paktika Provincial Reconstruction Team’s Orgun detachment. Paktika PRT is a joint team whose mission is to help legitimize the government of Afghanistan through development, governance and agricultural initiatives. Ray, a native of Bennettsville, S.C., and Hollifield, a native of Spartanburg, S.C., are both deployed from the 1/178 Field Artillery B Battery, South Carolina Army National Guard.
