KUNAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – An Afghan National Army Soldier with Weapons Company, 1st Kandak, returns fire during a complex attack against Combat Outpost Bari Alai in eastern Afghanistan’s Kunar province, April 10. An estimated 30 insurgents fired on a dismounted patrol near Nishigam village, wounding three, and attacked the outpost with small arms and heavy machine gun fire from the surrounding territory. ANA and International Security Assistance Forces suppressed the attackers with direct and indirect fires, as well as air-to-ground missiles and bombs.
