KHOST PROVINCE, Afghanistan – The Afghan Uniformed Police conducted Police Combined Action Team training at the Khost AUP Provincial Headquarters in Khost Province, Afghanistan June 26-27.
Soldiers from 330th Military Police Company, 95th MP Battalion, Task Force Sheriff, conducted the two-day course, which taught law enforcement skills including basic weapons handling, safety, combat casualty care and first aid.
The PCAT mission is to mentor, assess and train AUP soldiers and their leadership, said U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Adonis Fabiandiaz, 95th MP Bn., spokesman from New York.
“AUP soldiers and first line leaders showed tremendous motivation and attention during the training which took place at the provincial headquarters building in Khost city,” Fabiandiaz said.
The course was split into two blocks spanning two days. The first day was focused on basic policing. The second day focused on life saving operations.
U.S. Army Spc. Paolo Flores, from San Diego., provincial headquarters squad medic, 330th MP Co., conducted the combat casualty care and first aid training with AUP, said the response from the course was positive.
