Tanya Tucker Honors ‘Childhood Hero’, Country Music Icon Loretta Lynn!
Following the passing away of American singer-songwriter Loretta Lynn on October 4th, singer Tanya Tucker has paid homage to her childhood hero.
It was through an Instagram post that the “Strong Enough to Bend” singer shared her touching tribute.
In 2021, Lynn and Tucker associated with each other and came up with the rerecording of Lynn’s all-time hit “You Ain’t Woman Enough”.
Tanya Tucker Pays Tribute To Loretta Lynn!
Tanya begins her social media post with an emotional statement that her world has changed and it will never be the same again.
According to her, Loretta Lynn got her wings and the day of her death has been filled with tears. With many memories and a lot of gratitude, Tanya thanks God for blessing her with Loretta’s music and her guidance that helped her overcome the perils of the music world much before they ever met.
Tanya continues to mention that she has always looked up to Loretta and they became best friends. Loretta always brought her flowers and she also exchanged flowers in return.
Time has allowed her to share many special moments with Loretta, she has even named her horse after her, but now the time has taken Loretta from her forever.
Tanya goes on to say that she has been left with so many memories to remember and cling on to. She thanks god for giving her an opportunity to sing with Loretta on her latest record. Tanya adds that she has been waiting for a long time for that to happen.
As per Tanya, she was busy planning a much-needed vacation to Mexico when she heard the news of her childhood hero’s death.
She emotionally adds that now Mexico will have to wait as Loretta has boarded the train and she is on her way to heaven. Tanya also mentions that Mexico will always be there, but her friend Loretta has gone to glory.
Tanya expressed hope that she will meet Loretta in heaven someday and she misses her very much. The Instagram post ends with the touching statement “ I think you know how I feel! Your girl always – Tanya”.
The release of Loretta Lynn’s 50th studio album ‘Still Woman Enough’ took place on 19th March 2021. It was Loretta’s fourth album with Legacy Recordings and the recording of the session happened at Cash Cabin in Tennessee.
The title track of ‘Still Woman Enough’ features Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire. The re-recording of “You Ain’t Woman Enough” has a duet by Tanya and Margo Price has sung the rerecording of the duet “One’s on the Way”.
Lynn celebrated her 90th birthday last April and Tanya had wished her. For the last several years, Lynn has been struggling with various health issues, including pneumonia.
In 2017, she suffered from a stroke and broke her hip following the fall of 2018. On 4th October, her death happened while she was sleeping in her home in Hurricane Mills. The cause of her death has not been revealed till now.
