2022 Child Tax Credit: Three $250 Direct Payments In Days

A number of states have now given direct payments of up to $750 to thousands of qualified Americans.

Residents of Rhode Island can now get $250 per child and up to $750 for three children through a new program that started this month.

A new program that started in late August gives qualified Connecticut families a tax credit of up to $250 per child, up to a maximum of three children.

The Empire Child Tax Credit is a program in New York that helps families who qualify based on their income.

Families with children over the age of four and younger than 17 can get this credit.

Parents could expect to get these payments by the end of October.

If you lived in New York State all year or were married to someone who did.

Eligibility

Have a child who qualifies for the age criteria.

Should meet at least one of the following:

You claim a federal child tax credit, additional child tax credit, or other dependent credit on Form 1040 or 1040NR

Your federal adjusted gross income for New York is:

1. $110,000 or less if you are married and file a joint return
2.
For single, head of household, or qualifying widow is $75,000 or less
3.
$55,000 or less, each spouse files separately
