Following the rocky debut of Overwatch 2 this week, Blizzard developers are hard at work to address the server issues
They are also working hard to fix different issues that gamers have encountered as they go on their first journey into the long-awaited sequel.
Blizzard previously announced on Friday, Oct. 7, that another round of server maintenance was scheduled from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. CT this evening.
Soon after the servers were due to go down, the official Overwatch Twitter alerted players that they'd be down from 9pm to 10pm CT.
Blizzard expects the servers to be operational again approximately 10 p.m. CT. However, as of 10:30 p.m. CT, the servers were still offline.
According to the most recent information provided by Battle.net, the servers are expected to become available again at about 11:30 p.m. Central Time.
Overwatch 2 has had a difficult first week, with queues of up to 40,000 people waiting to enter the game on launch day.
Even though the servers are more reliable today after maintenance yesterday, many gamers are still experiencing issues.
Overwatch fans describe characters they've played for hundreds of hours getting locked, cosmetics not transferring, and more.
Players expect that as Blizzard resolves these flaws, the game will become more stable, however more server downtime is possible in the future.
